Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex

From the Care-Taker

The organization is going to complete its third decade of service. The first decade was devoted mainly towards creating services for the needlessly blind people particularly in the remote areas where eye care facilities were virtually nonexistent. To cope with the ever-expanding eye-care services across the country, during its second decade, attention was given towards multidisciplinary ophthalmic human resource development. Currently, efforts are underway to improve capacity building and attaining sustainability. I am happy to say all those have been achieved to a great extent. Besides, studies on some of the common ophthalmic problems has been undertaken. Nevertheless, assuring quality service remains our motto as we firmly believe excellence is a virtue within our reach.

It is gratifying that the organization, inspite of its various resource constraints, is making steady progress keeping pace with the global developments. All those were possible due to the support received from organizations and individuals from within and outside the country.

Whatever has been achieved, is due to the dedicated service of the members of the staff & their team work. As we know, at times silence is expensive – this publication is an attempt towards breaking the silence.
